ABOUT THIS REFERENCE

What sits behind a contact listing

Our records distinguish the number, its stated purpose and the publication used as evidence.

01

Identify the provider

A route may belong to an airline, a retailer, a bank issuing a branded card, or another specialist provider. We retain that identity instead of treating every related product as the responsibility of one general help desk.

02

Keep the original scope

Regional calling restrictions, department labels and known limitations stay with the contact. A baggage team is not presented as a ticket-refund service. Where an airport supplies the evidence, it is identified as an airport source rather than a company publication.

03

Record a review, not an outcome

A displayed source-review date means published information was examined. It does not mean the phone was test-called, an agent answered, or a request was successful. Telephone access, hours and instructions can change.

04

Leave gaps visible

If a suitable telephone has not been documented, we show an online company destination. We do not substitute another business’s number or invent a rating, queue estimate, popularity measure or best calling time.

05

Make corrections traceable

A useful correction identifies the company, the detail needing attention and a current provider source. Editors compare the purpose and region before changing a contact. A separate sales line is not substituted for a company line simply because a contributor requests it.
